Wow from around the Net: Lazy Teenage Superheroes

I don’t know anyone who hasn’t at one point or another wished that they had some sort of super powers. The ultimate question is not what power you want but what would you do with said enhanced ability. If you really think about it do you think you would actually fully utilize the power for good or would you use it for selfish reasons?

This may sound a little jaded but honestly would you go out and start using your ability to save lives or would you maybe make your life easier. I can honestly say being a super powered career vigilante isn’t really a occupation that I want to have. Getting pummeled on by villains while the law enforcement is starting a man hunt for me is not what I call fun and to top it off all while worrying about the government taking me away in the middle of the night for experimentation.

What would I want if I had powers, probably to be left alone and would only use them to make my life easier. Most of the time in comics it is a socially wayward teenager that is the one who suddenly has these unbelievable abilities and has to deal with being bullied all while hiding their new found strengths. Time for another dose of honesty at that age if I had suddenly blossomed into a super powered man I would defiantly not be a hero.

Someone took the premise of having powers and not wanting to step up to take the responsibility of being a hero and made a short movie. What I love most about this little feature is that it is probably how it would actually go if a bunch of teens had abilities. The plot of this is not the most notable accomplishment of this film, the fact that this entire thing is done on a budget of 300 hundred dollars is the most impressive part.

The mastermind behind this youtube masterpiece defiantly needs to have more funding behind him. I could see this becoming a show it would be an American version of the English show Misfits, which I would defiantly watch.

WTF!: Jurassic Park, Supoer Villains and Superheroes OH My

When I am bored at work I tend to use a little website called stumble upon to past the slow moving time. I use it in hopes to find some sort of entertainment that might distract my attention for even a glimpse of time and make the day go by faster. The best part about the website is that you input your interests and things you like and it will take you to random sites around the web accordingly. On top of your choice of interests as you are taken from webpage to web page you can like or dislike and it will alter what it shows you as well as suggest other topics you may like.

If you have not heard of this awesome time killer then check it out here:

So using this tool I have set to my like photography and from usage it has suggested that I like travel. These two topics together get me a significant amount of beautiful landscape images from around the world and thusly I have started a list of some really cool places I want to see for myself not just from a computer screen.

One day while “stumbling”, which whenever I say that it makes me feel like I am talking about being drunk, I came across this beautiful picture of a Island somewhere. There is no description of where this picture was taken or what the name of the Island in question is.

Check it Out:

I was looking at this image when a thought suddenly flew into my mind… This Island would be the perfect place for Jurassic Park!

Then I stumbled across this article about a billionaire who is trying to clone a dinosaur of his own. All I can say is has he never seen the movie Jurassic Park and if not as soon as he even mentioned the thought of doing this why did nobody decide to sit down and educate him on the matter.

Read More Here:

Or maybe he is an aspiring super villain and this is his first step on his rise to the throne of power. Moments of thought like this make me wish superheroes were a real thing and not just characters in fiction. Oh wait… what is that in the sky is it a bird, is it a plain no it is these guys.

Yup another thing I found while stumbling, this is a group of people who have come together to bring down their own form of justice whatever that is. Some of these real life characters go around bust skulls in the name of justice while some go dressed like this to their local homeless shelter an lend a hand.

Check them out here:

So we are ether dealing with a group of vigilantes roaming the streets and stopping “problems” or a bunch of people trying to put a different spin of volunteer work. No matter how you look at it this group has some awesome costumes and I would love to do a photoshoot with this group of individuals. Also the chick, Nyx as she calls herself,  is freaking hot as hell but as me and my friends always say “ You don’t fuck crazy because crazy will fuck you”. I do have to give them credit they are doing something that I do not have the cojones to do.

Just some random thoughts

What If Wednesdays: Superheroes

What If? So many questions start with those two words, and we all say it especially all of the dreamers, and the neigh sayers too. Every week I try to come up with the best what if's and give five answers to what I would do or who would I be or where would I go. Life is filled with people saying if, it seems like everyday people are always saying if this were to happen or if that were to happen. Well here is me taking all those ifs and saying to myself well I guess in that situation I would want this to happen. This weekend here in good old Calgary is the Calgary Comic Expo, I look forward to this all year and for this week it is pretty much the only thing on my mind. As most of my free time is spent putting the finishing touches on my costume and excitedly tittering about who is going to be there and how amazing it going to be. I decided that since comics and geekyness are the number one topics in my world right now I figured that a very geeky what if was in need for this week. Here it is: "If I could be any super hero who would I be?" For all of those who know me they know how much of a massive marvel fanboy I am, so for those of you who don't personally know me will soon discover consider yourself warned. 1. Wolverine Photobucket Yes I know that he is the number one known marvel superhero but he is my absolute favorite, so he is my first choice for a superhero. As I have stated before my reason for liking wolverine is not because of his claws, which are still freaking badass, but it is because of his amazing healing ability. I love the idea of being able to just heal any wound and to be quite honest if I had the ability I would be doing a lot of crazy extreme sports. 2. Spiderman Photobucket Swinging from building to building by webs would by thrilling, feeling the wind rush through my hair as I seemingly free fall in the streets. I have always wanted to be as spry and acrobatic, too move around the way Peter Parker does when is wearing the red mask is something that has always appealed to me. That and being able to straight climb up a wall all crazy girl from the exorcist would be too much fun and a great joke to play on your friends when they are super drunk. 3. Colossus Photobucket Skin of steel, ya what is not to like because seriously what is not cool about that? You would be a living breathing tank, being completely invulnerable to damage you could walk in and out of every kind of bad situation basically the ultimate super hero. 4. Nightcrawler Photobucket Poof here and Poof there Poof every where, I would have so much fun just popping up all over the place and scaring the living shit out of people would also be beyond entertaining. The best part about it however would be looking like a blue freaking demon, yup I would do a lot of awesome things looking like that. But let us not forget about his amazing prehensile tail, hasn't everyone always wanted a freaking amazing monkey tail. 5. Iron Man Photobucket Billionaire playboy with a super suit that is packed to the teeth with gadgets and gizmos. I like the idea of a super hero whose only amazing ability is that he is a genius. The idea that with alot of money and hard work anybody could be a superhero.
