Preperation for pranking

The last couple of weeks I have not been submitting my regular amount of blog posts and I apologize for that. Right now I am forcing myself to sit here and actually write something just so that I don’t get to far down the rabbit hole. It has been hard for me during the last while to muster the energy to write something between the stress of a new job and the stress of moving I feel like all my creative energy has been sucked out.

Earlier last month, before the big move, I stated that if he was game I might be starting a prank war with my new tenant. Well he said we was down for such a thing and I said that once we were all moved in and set up it would begin. With that stipulation in mind I am hoping to finish that off this weekend so that the plotting and scheming may begin.

There have been a couple of well documented prank videos spiraling around the internet this week and to start it all off. The first is a warning that pranks can possibly go terribly wrong and to check myself before I wreck… my enemy.

It was funny to watch the reactions of my co-workers as that girl got hit by the car it was priceless. I am really hoping that car was staged it was so realistic that I am not entirely sure but I certainly hope so. If what happens in the next video ever happened to me I might be incarcerated for assaulting a small child.

Well that is all for now I have been really lacking on posting and I am hoping to turn that around in the coming weeks. With Christmas just around the corner I am sure there will be tons of festive things that I can share with all of you.

WTF!: Green Day

It seems to me that there are a lot of things in the past little while that are revolving around the band Green Day. For those who may or may not have been living under a rock or don’t listen to popular music, Green Day is a three piece punk band that really got off the ground in the early 90’s. In the recent years they have transitioned genres a little from the grunge punk of the 90’s to currently performing emo pop rock.

A great many people from the time when they were first starting out, myself included, consider Green Day to be a massive sell out. In my life being a child of the 90’s I can say that the Dookie album and the Nimrod Album got me through some hard times of my own. However in my honest opinion you cannot take a band serious musically when they are the faces behind a special edition of Angry Birds. Especially with a punk band that is supposed to represent individuality and opposition to the corporations taking over.

One of the new trends in the past couple years that I can say I find almost ridiculous is that people hold their cameras and camera phones up at concerts to record it. Personally I remember a time when if you tried to take a camera into a concert it was pretty much a guarantee that it would be confiscated. The one thing about all of these cameras at concerts that is a bonus is that occasionally little gems come to light for all the world to witness that in the past only those in attendance would be graced with seeing.

Well it turns out that the Lead singer of Green Day had a little melt down on stage at a show in Las Vegas. Check it out below but keep in mind that there is extensive amounts of profanity coming from this eyeliner wearing male prima donna, so not for children.

The thing that I find most amusing by how the lead singer of this band holds himself publicly is that in reality he is only a couple of years younger than my father. Now just imagine that your dad acting the same way as this grown man did in the video and you will probably be laughing as well. For those who know what my dad is like try imagining the stern German man swearing like a sailor and smashing a guitar.

Since we are already speaking about both Green Day and about the wonderful music of the 90’s I will continue on the topic. On the talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live this week the music artist Alanis Morissette performed a cover of Basket Case. Actually I like this cover to be honest and not just because when the song is performed by an artist like Alanis it sound way more whiney but musically it is very interesting.

Green Day is actually releasing three albums this year and I may give them a listen to but judging by how the last couple albums scored with me I do not have high hopes for them.

How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse: Zombie College

Looking for a way to burn some time to make the weekend come around faster, or maybe you are just looking for some way to amuse yourself for about an hour, well look no further. I have the solution to you weekday boredom in the form of an entertaining little internet cartoon series.

I have an affinity for things relating to anything to do with zombie fueled culture and this is no exception. I found this little internet gem because of a page a day calendar I have in my office that is about all things to do with zombies. I had to stifle a couple of giggles during the process of watching this web cartoon because I watched it all while working at my cubicle.

The animation style of this little show isn’t the best in the world but for a free animated short found on the internet it isn’t half bad. While watching this I realized that I recognized the voice of the lead doofus’s girlfriend but I couldn’t figure out from where, I like to play a game with myself of trying to place an actor or voice without looking it up. Finally I gave in and after a little bit of googling, wikiing and IMBDing I found out the voice actress is also the voice behind Bobby from King of the Hill.

One Miss Pamela Adlon lends her voice talents to this cartoon as well a extremely talented Mr. John Di Maggio, the voice of bender from Futurama. I thought it was cool that these the voices of prime time cartoons would help out with such a low budget cartoon.

Check out Episode 1 Here:

While writing this I was not sure at first whether to classify this blog post as a “How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse” post or a “Wow from around the Net”. I chose to put under the HSZA because as fun as it is, unfortunately the wow factor was not there. None the less this little show is worth a bit of a watch if only for a small amount of amusement.

WTF!: Canadian Hobos

I have always been an early riser so has most of my family, even as a teen on the weekends sleeping till 9 was to long. One advantage to getting up early as a kid was that on Saturdays I never missed any of the Saturday morning cartoons. In fact I was usually up so early that I got to watch programming that was aired before the much anticipated cartoons started. Due to my location this meant that I watched two very interesting pieces of Canadian children’s programming. The on right before the actual cartoons began was called Ballooner Landing and was as far as I can remember about a husband and wife duo who lived on a farm. As a kid I once met the stars of this randomly in a Tim Hortons… how Canadian.

The one on before Ballooner Landing was an older set of re-runs that played while I was getting my cereal ready. The show was called The Littlest Hobo and was about an ownerless German Sheppard that roamed the CP Rail helping people in small towns along the way. Think of it as a Canadian version of Lassie but instead of a well groomed border collie we had a dirty homeless German Sheppard.

This show was awesome and I rember it well from my childhood, his ran for so long that it was on the air when my parents were kids as well. A lot of the time to this day my parents and me make references to this piece of both our childhoods. I was thinking of ordering a shirt for my dad for Christmas, I always like to get him things that remind him of his childhood it makes him cry.

Buy it here:

or maybe this one, but it is more funny so probably not:

Speaking of Hobos I came across this online and thought it was awesome enough that I couldn’t help but share it with everyone. It originally had the states but I changed it to be the provinces to make it more Canadian like The Littlest Hobo.

Top 100 Insults in cinima

Today was an extremely slow day at work for me and I spent a lot of the time on my favorite website to mindlessly kill time, http://www.stumbleupon.com”>Stumbleupon. When I happened across this youtube film that outlines the top 100 movie insults, So I put my movie trivia to the test and attempted to name them all. Out of the hundred I guessed 58 of the films and had to look up the rest, my personal challenge was to not use the list provided which I did not. The part I find most interesting is that of all the films I have only seen 39 of them that includes 7 that I didn’t guess, maybe this is why I am good at scene it. I will admit it was a good time killer doing this as well as all the insults in a row are pretty funny, there is also a part two but I am thinking of saving it for another day.

So enjoy
